How is Cosmobiology Different from Traditional Astrology?
TRADITIONAL ASTROLOGY concentrates on planets, signs, aspects and houses and is highly effective when used with an accurate birth time. Interpretation can be esoteric and mystical and also practical. Australian Academy of Astrology & Cosmobiology students are given a thorough background in Traditional Astrology before being introduced to Cosmobiology
COSMOBIOLOGY concentrates on planets, signs, the 'hard' aspects and midpoints, without highlighting the houses. This creates a different focus, which is particularly useful when no birth time is available. Cosmobiology is favoured by researchers and many medical astrologers.
Both systems of astrology are relevant. Australian Academy of Astrology & Cosmobiology students are taught both systems, but eventually choose their own favoured method of interpretation -- a mystical or scientific approach to astrology.

Beginners Correspondence Course
With the advent of the internet, more students prefer the option of distance learning these days, so our Beginners Correspondence Course (ISBN 0-646-45388-2), which has been operating successfully since January 2001, may be the one for you. This Course provides the student with a sound knowledge of basic Traditional Astrology principles and normally takes 12 months to complete, depending on the hours of study allocated to the course and personal progress. Students are encouraged to email their questions and actively participate. Astrology is learnt through the study of your own horoscope. Horoscope interpretation is introduced early in the course.
We live in a computer age and most astrologers eventually purchase computer software. As a result the teaching of many astrological techniques and calculations are often bypassed and with time, will be lost. At our Academy we are committed to producing astrologers who can work with or without their computer software, teaching techniques and calculations as well as astrological interpretation.
Australian Academy of Astrology & Cosmobiology produces wholistic astrologers, many of whom have proven to be excellent teachers, interpreters and counsellors.
Some of the topics included in our Beginners Correspondence Course are the zodiac signs, planets, houses, aspects, lunar phases, introduction to medical astrology, calculation of the horoscope for northern and southern latitude birth places, planetary aspects, astro-hereditary and the astrological family tree.
Because horoscope interpretation is introduced early in the course, students will quickly apply their lessons to everyday living and enhance their understanding of friends and loved ones
All Correspondence Course lessons are graded progressively. Each Unit must be completed and sent to the Academy for grading before the next Unit is posted out. Students having difficulty with a particular Unit are sometimes invited to complete extra work on that particular Unit in order to boost their grade. Pamela Rowe, the Principal and qualified tutors will assist students with their lessons.
There are two Australian Academy of Astrology & Cosmobiology text-books provided with the Beginners Correspondence Course to assist students in their studies, plus comprehensive handout notes for each lesson. (see Books & Resources).
Once you have satisfactorily completed the 10 Units of the Beginners Correspondence Course, you will be sent a beautiful Certificate of Completion, onto which your name and final grade will be professionally lettered. You will then be invited to continue with the 10 Units of the Australian Academy of Astrology & Cosmobiology Intermediate Correspondence Course (ISBN 0-646-45389-0), after which you will be eligible to sit our well known supervised AAAC CERTIFICATE examination.
